FDM-Facial Distortion Model

The Fascial Distortion Model (FDM) is a model of diagnosis and treatment for common musculoskeletal conditions. FDM practitioners use six specific problems or “distortions” in the body’s connective tissue to improve conditions such as pulled muscles, strains, sprains and frozen shoulders.

The Fascial Distortion Model identifies six different states of facial dysfunction:

  1. Triggerband

  2. Herniated Triggerpoints

  3. Continuum Distortion

  4. Folding Distortion

  5. Cylinder Distortion

  6. Tectonic Fixation

Benefits of FDM-Facial Distortion Model

1. Quick pain relief.
2. The patient is an authority for the therapist, what he says and shows is the foundation for the diagnosis and effective FDM therapy.
3. The medical interview, examination and therapy become consistent and understandable for the patient.
4. High therapeutic efficacy with chronic diseases.
5. A new diagnostic perspective on old problems.
6. Therapeutic transparency increases trust – manual grips performed by the therapist are deceptively similar to the gestures performed by the patient before the therapy.
